Real girls

Real girls, real stories

Girl Scouts just like you are doing some amazing things this Cookie Season. Let’s meet some girls who have been a part of some exciting projects as they develop their leadership skills and have a great time running their own cookie stores.

Savannah Smiles – The Cover Girls!

Have you noticed the laughing girls on the side of the Savannah Smiles box? They love selling Girl Scout cookies just like you! They belong to Troop 7775 with more than 50 girls in San Antonio, Texas. San Antonio is located in the American Southwest. It is the second-largest city in Texas. Many girls here have families who used to live in Mexico. Many can speak Spanish. Maybe they would say, “Girl Scouts. Where Girls Grow Strong.” Or maybe they would say, “Girl Scouts. Donde las niñas se fortalecen.”

Lalah loves Cookie Club

Lalah was recently named the top cookie salesperson in her council, Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital. She sold over 1,000 boxes of cookies last year and raised a lot of money for her group. Lalah shared two secrets to her success:

  1. Get your family involved
  2. Use the online Cookie Club to sell more cookies with your computer.

Lalah’s troop used cookie money to do lots of fun and educational activities, including taking a trip to New York City where they visited the Statue of Liberty and saw the Black Eyed Peas in concert! How many extra boxes can you sell using Cookie Club?

Troop 1123 helps the homeless

The girls of Troop 1123 used their cookie money to help people at a local homeless shelter. When they discovered that the shelter, called Haven for Hope, did not have a playroom for younger children, they decided to take action. The girls painted the whole room and made a chalkboard wall, art station and puppet area. Now, kids who spend the night at the shelter can have some fun and feel safe in a playroom made especially for them. What a great way to make the world a better place!
